I just had a look at Tau and there is a heavily pregnant lioness walking along.

Oh I hope so bjd - sometimes it's difficult to determine the bloated stomach from gorging or simply pregnant. She is probably looking for a nice hidden nesting spot.

I saw a bloated male lion in Kenya. He looked as though he had swallowed a basketball and just lay there. I'm sure this lioness is pregnant. Her tawny colour melted into the background except for the black on her ears, the end of her tail and the swollen nipples visible from a distance. I think you are right that she was looking for a hidden nesting spot. The camera tracked her for a while and then she just disappeared into some bushes.

There have been lots of elephants around the watering hole daily. Currently, there are at least twenty-one.

I’ve recently seen several lions lounging around in the evening, too. One night they were relaxing after feasting on a smallish creature. Fortunately most of the carcass was hidden by some tall grass.

it is so interesting to view this link over the months , watching the seasons change and the animals behaviours .

I noticed a while back but forgot to post that there are new cameras . I particularly enjoy the camera at Kamfers Dam --so many different birds but really the flamingos are the star of that particular camera stream, plus the spectacular sunsets .

A little less lush but quite busy is this watering hold in Namibia.

Thanks for that, Kerouac. There are a bunch of oryx (oryxes?) standing around.

Gee whiz I was about to put up the same link for the Live stream of the Namibian waterhole. Ignore the ostriches....they only come once in a blue moon, get ready instead to se the magnificent Gemsbok with their straight spear-like horns. Also known as Oryx. Wild horses also frequent the water. If you have a look at the night scene you will find little bright eyes gathered at the lip of the water. I made out a few Hare with their long ears. Also spotted the other night was a jackal. He spent ages sniffing where the hare had been drinking.
