It will spray oil, which apparently a regular sprayer won't do. I looked around to see if the regular kind would work with oil, but everyone said that the oil would have to be cut by half with water.
I was relieved when I got the special sprayer that it appears to be better much made than the regular kind, and the many reviews say that it holds up. I can see why you'd ask if there is really a difference, though.

If you use the window sprayer on your food, it might kill any coronavirus. Perhaps a going away gift for the POTUS?

I was initially confused by the "non-aerosol" claim. When I think of aerosol, I think of sealed cans containing paint, bug spray, or room deodorizer, not of something you can open at home and fill. Of the well-known brands &/or types, it appears that many are in fact aerosol because you have to pump them first to build up the aer part of the aerosol. That is in contrast with the hand-cranked sprayer we all know from window cleaners, etc. I assume that Evo was the first to come out with that type for oil, thus justifying "the first" part of their advertising.
My attraction to this product came about not because of its advertising, but because of comments made on the toa-60 fb page. Those comments and my follow-up reading of Amazon reviews quickly convinced me I did not want any of the aerosol oil sprayers.

I have a couple of appliances on the kitchen floor which I pick up and plug in as required. I would not dare acquire any more due to the space problems.
I will happily buy an oil sprayer if I can find one. I used to actually bring back aerosol cans of oil from my trips to the United States, but I have not had any for almost 10 years.

I don't really understand what you would use it for. What kind of oil comes in aerosol cans?

I made a bunch of breaded beef cutlets & froze them individually. Tonight I used the last one for supper, as it's heaven making them in the air fryer. I cut some good sized mushrooms (the plain old white ones) into thick slices, put them on a plate & spritzed them with olive oil. I then set the cutlet on top of them in order to spritz it with oil on both sides. I then put the cutlet in the middle of the air fry basket & surrounded it with the mushroom slices -- all in one layer & not touching the meat. Set it on airfry for 12 minutes, which was enough time for the sliced chayote with tomato to cook on top of the stove, and there was supper.

As ever all your dinners sound good. I think I have said it before but this time I mean it - must go check out air fryers.
Its nearly 7pm here and I have still not decided or started to make something. So whatever I eat it will have to be easy to prepare and fast to cook. However I am off work now for the next 4 days so have more time to plan.

Even I am becoming attracted to air fryers, even though I would have to store it on the floor next to my food processor.

I don't want to put you off in any way Kerouac but if you cannot have the airfryer in a permanent position you will soon loose interest - picking it up- (heavy little bugger), using it then waiting for it to cool, washing it, then replacing it on the floor will become a mission. Let me say that once it has a permanent home you will turn to it for just about everything. I start with breakfast: Fling a few frozen or even room temp scones in the basket and in 2min you have something that has just come out of the oven. I have not tried toast yet but I can see it working. Lunch and dinner give a million options except soups - quicker in micro. I dare say I could try doing a stirfry??? Mmmm.. maybe tonight! I got some good ideas from YouTube cooking videos. This leads me to my last little tip. Don't buy an airfryer with a basket that has a mesh-like basket like the one in the Phillips. Its a devil to clean if you dont do that immediately after cooking. I can leave my Midea unwashed for 48 hrs or more because it's got a solid bottom that just falls out. Easy to scrub as its a solid square metal disc. When I had the Phillips the basket had a handle which always got in the way.
Take another look at your kitchen configuration and maybe shift stuff around that is lighter and easier to stash away - do you really use your food processor everyday? Mine is tucked away at the back of a cupboard and is never used. What am I missing out on? Bought it because that's what everyone had in their kitchens but after a few uses it was more trouble than it was worth.

I think I may consider putting it where my microwave is (I have a fairly large microwave!) which I rarely use That's a great idea, Mich. I don't use a microwave, but the place I put the air fryer is exactly in the one & only place in my kitchen where a microwave would fit.

I hope this isn’t a silly question but what can’t it do? It probably doesn't make coffee.

I researched the air fryers and my husband then measured and determined that it will not fit on my countertop. Not that there is not length room, it is the height. Our kitchen has a low ceiling, therefore the space between the upper cabinets and the counter top is not standard height so the fryer is too large. Disappointing. Since, I decided to buy a new coffee maker (sorry off topic) after searching other kitchen items. I am waiting for my order, a Cuisinart Burr Grind and Thermal Coffee Maker.

You'll be too happy with that fancy coffee apparatus to care about an air fryer, Mich! I am becoming attracted to air fryers, even though I would have to store it on the floor next to my food processor. It is reprehensible that you have the food processor on the floor. Here is a solution for both the food processor and an air fryer -- a solution which might work for Mich as well. The important thing would be to get a heavy duty one with dimensions appropriate for the size of the AF. And where, you ask, would you put it in your sleek yet smallish Paris kitchen? It rolls. You would put it here, to be fetched forth when needed and rolled out of the way when laundry is being done. The model I have is actuellement indisponible on Amazon France right now. Perhaps it was wildly popular this Noël? Well, there are other outlets for friteuses sans huile in your little burg, should you decide to take the plunge.

Today I decided to test my airfryer with a stew. Yes, I'm making a beef stew with carrots and onions. I have lined the basket with heavy duty foil. I then formed another large piece of foil into a basket shape and added the beef, herbs, seasonings and beer. Scrunched it closed and it is doing what stews have to do on a very low setting. I will open and check after about two hours but will have to be very careful not to puncture the foil. Otherwise it will be a move to Plan B. A pot on the hob. It worked!

That is ambitious, Tod! Did you make that up, or are there actual AF recipes for stew?

Can I take all the credit Bixa? Huh? huh?....YES I can! I completey did the whole thing out of my teeny little head. Of course I had been thinking about how I wanted to do the stew the night before,,,,,,sleepy bedtime thoughts you see. Then I thought, well if you can put stuff in an over bag and it cooks beautifully why can't I do the same in my airfryer? Naturally a oven bag beig made of that cellulose stuff melts and punctures the minute it touched a high heat element. So, as I had just given my air fryer a good clean inside the "öven" , and felt where the element was I knew I had to use something made of sterner stuff. Hence the foil. And the added bonus is there is NO Clean-up! Once you remove the stew carefully in it's foil cradle - alls good.

I am deeply impressed, Tod -- both at your brilliant idea and the gorgeous results. My grocery order yesterday included a box of supposedly good aluminum foil, because most of the foil I've found here is extremely flimsy. Now I'm eager to go open the box to see if it's hefty enough to try your clever idea.
