Lava on the Comoros Island fascinated me. We walked on it where it had flowed into the ocean around our hotel. Of course I had to bring some home with me. At the time it was just a memento but little did I know the young boy riding behind on my jetski would one day give me two beautiful grandsons that would in future years pick up the same lump of lava and ask, "Geggen, what is this black rock?" I smiled remembering the holiday and happily launched into the full description of how volcanoes give us this unusual rock!
