I read the guy was on parole after serving 17 years for killing his mom. Such a nice fellow. Deserving a second or third chance for sure

Yes, I was just being a bit apologetic about putting the story in US news. We have also experienced hate crimes against people from Asian communities; in my neighbourhood, Vietnamese. Fortunately none as violent as that charming fellow.

I am not sure if the news reports are accurate , but I was shocked to read that no passer-by intervened to help the poor lady.

There are so many attacks of white Americans killing other white Americans (such as today in California, even if they are Latinos) that I don't really find it necessary to sort out these attacks according to ethnicity, even though that is what Americans always seem to do -- the race is always the most important thing, ahead of the humanity of the victims. Will there ever be a post-racial society?

yes Lugg no one helped the poor lady. Its a scandal. I thought I heard that the man who attacked her was out on parole accused of murdering his mother.

Will there ever be a post-racial society? Probably not, at least in the foreseeable future. We seem to be hardwired for this silliness, even in places where we officially pretend not to be.
