I land at Geneva at noon and must be in the northeast at Romont the next morning. 1.5 hour.
I plan to stop at a town or even village but not a city.
Any idea from an anyporter where to stop to eat and sleep, or visit.
I spotted along the lake Montreux (we all came to Montreux, on a summer of 69...). Or Chexbres - becausexof my old friend Patty.
What is your advice ?

I’ve taken a train through that area and it was hard to keep my mouth from gaping open because the scenery was so gorgeous! I’d think anywhere on the lake would be fabulous.
I know I really liked Lausanne, but that’s probably too big for you.

I've driven on both sides of the lake many times and always loved it. On the Swiss side, Lausanne and Montreux always struck me the most.

I much prefer Lausanne to Geneva. That is the extent of my very limited knowledge of Switzerland, other than rail routes.

Your hotel looks like it has some wonderful views of the lake. I’m looking forward to hearing about your trip and hoping for some photos, if possible. It’s nice that your daughter has been traveling with you a bit. I bet you enjoy having her along.

So you'll all go out to Montreaux on the Lake Geneva shoreline? Study the fire exits!

Upon arrival, le palace de Montreux. Next morning, view from my breakfast table Climbing thecstreets, rewarded by spectacular views. I want to.eat there next time. View from a bridge There had been rain the days before. Lots of. Miss Whatagain, the eldest. I love these small streets. My daughter brought me to the top. Saying the view was great. They have vineyards everywhere. And one ugly building... a hotel.
