I made my first report about the cemetery of Montmartre more than 10 years ago. Not much has changed, but what I see is a bit different every time, so here is another visit, all the more important since we will apparently not be getting our usual wonderful Mexican cemetery reports this year. Chrysanthemums remain the principal cemetery flower in France and at least ten other countries so you see them everywhere.
The Montmartre cemetery has a more rectangular grid than Père Lachaise, so there are a lot of long straight lanes.
However, it is very easy to zigzag around and you can make your visit as irregular as you like.
There is no lack of illustrious forgotten people who were clearly very important and/or rich when they died.
Sometimes I look them up but usually not.
