I love these photos . How would it feel to be in the car with the elephant 'resting his trunk' on the roof? The sign 'to not beat on your woman' is great.

Um..... maybe I have a dirty mind, but WHAT is that thing peeking out from the behind the elephant's back leg? Is something more intimate than trunk caresses getting ready to happen?

The lone bull elephant must have come walking out of the bush just as the car was driving along - speed limit in our South African game parks is 40km on dirt & 50km on tar.
Visitors are advised to stay at least 30 metres away from these lone elephants. Donot drive towards them, donot hoot or flick your lights at them. I have encountered quite a few coming towards our vehicle and usually stop. If he keeps coming I slowly start reversing and usually they wander off the road back into the bush.
Yes, you spotted it - an elephants penis.

Tod2 ~~ you're in South Africa? How wonderful. What part, if I may ask?
Naive question, but when you say you've encountered quite a few, does that mean in the parks, or also on regular roads?
