I love bees, I encourage them into my garden with bee hotels, this is just one of four.

Insect hotels are for sale in all of the gardening stores now. I just wish I could put one somewhere. Maybe I'll have another look at Leroy Merlin, because their smallest one is only about 15 euros. Rita has shown us the jumbo model.

The town we live in set up a bunch of beehives with a removable panel and a window so people could see the bees at work. There was also an opening at the top to let the bees in and out. Unfortunately, the opening let in hornets and they killed all the bees.
I talked to a guy selling honey at the market and he told me putting beehives in a place where a lot of people go by was a bad idea for the bees and that they needed peace. I have loads of bees in my garden because of the flowers, especially lavender and tea trees (leptospermum). I also planted some bee balm (monarde) but they aren't blooming yet.
