"It's the economy, stupid" was the catch phrase coined by James Carville in 1992. It is what allowed Bill Clinton to win the election against George H.W. Bush. It also appears to be what is going to make Biden lose in a couple of days. American voters appear to have no interest in equality, abortion rights, immigration, education, climate change, ecology and other such leftist preoccupations. All they care about is their own financial well being. That is totally understandable, the problem being that they don't understand that it is all connected.
And therefore it appears that the United States will be going down the drain again, ensuring that Trump will run for president again next time.

Biden may lose his majority in the House or Senate, but he isn’t on the ballot and will still be President till 2025. His veto pen will prevent Republicans from doing too much damage. And Dems still control both houses of Congress until January 3, so can do a bunch of stuff before the GOP takes over.

I wonder too how much these elections are self-fulfilling prophecies. For months now we have heard that the Republicans are going to win and flip the Congress -- to what extent does it make potential Democrat voters not bother to turn up?
Like in Israel, where the Israeli Arabs didn't bother to vote and the far right and Netanyahu are back in power, but just a few thousand votes would have made a difference.

And Dems still control both houses of Congress until January 3, so can do a bunch of stuff before the GOP takes over. I pray this is true. I wonder too how much these elections are self-fulfilling prophecies. For months now we have heard that the Republicans are going to win and flip the Congress -- to what extent does it make potential Democrat voters not bother to turn up? I wonder exactly the same thing. The so-called mainstream "liberal-leaning" media in the US, i.e. NYTimes, Washington Post & that ilk, often seem to deliberately undermine the positive aspects of the Democratic platform, what with all their nit-picking, carping analyses and trumpeting about inflation.

Most of the red states are becoming redder and the blue states are becoming bluer. That leaves only about 5 or 6 swing states that may control the future of the American congress.

Before the next civil war begins imminently, how about both some amusement and pedagogy about Washington, D.C.? Leave the video at the very end where the commercial starts.

He’s also seen as a very charismatic leader by some. I detest the man and see him as another kind of a phony and a con who thinks he knows more than he actually does.

And it sticks out all over him!
We need to stop calling Republicans "conservative" and call them what they really are, which is repressive in service of gaining power by any means.
And as far as vocabulary, the phrase "abortion rights" makes conservatives' heads melt, whereas the big issue at stake is that women innately have rights over their own bodies and are not a lesser group of humanity which must be managed.

Possibly in values, but deS is known as being overly aggressive. He’s a bully. His nickname, among nicer people, is "DeSatan." Here’s a tiny example of him admonishing college students for wearing masks:

Marjorie Taylor Greene was reelected to Congress yesterday with 66% of the vote. I think she would make a brilliant running mate for De Santis in 2024.

I watched a little bit of commentary about these elections and one person said people vote for politicians they know or feel a relationship with. So how the hell this woman Greene got that many votes really does not say anything good about her voters. She is horrible.
As for DeSantis, he was referred to as "a Trumpy without the baggage" so many Republicans would like him to run for president in 2 years.

one person said people vote for politicians they know or feel a relationship with. That pretty much says it all about why people who have not drunk the Fox/Trump koolaid are so distraught and why friendships and family gatherings are now minefields. How can you have sane discourse with a person you thought you knew but who turns out to be quite happy to destroy your country? Calling Marjorie Taylor Greene "horrible" is giving her credit for being better than she is. Here is just one tiny sample of her utter baseness: edition.cnn.com/2021/01/27/politics/marjorie-taylor-greene-david-hogg-video/index.htmlThe Republican women give their vile menfolk a run for their money in the lowlife, lying, shithook sweepstakes. Both Kari Lake and that crazed & trashy Sarah Palin are signaling that they will contest their respective elections should they not win. They're already making baseless claims of corruption, vote tampering, etc.

I really enjoyed the interview of Kari Lake where the journalist kept asking "will you accept the result of the election?" and she kept saying "I will accept the election that I will win." And if she didn't win? Not possible, because the election was the one that she would be winning.
(She didn't win, so I am looking forward to more interviews.)

As of right now only 67% of the AZ governor race results are in, so the race isn’t completely over (currently Hobbs 50.11 to Lake 49.89)
