Nice photos, Mick. I was there on a weekend last October and walked through the area you show. That whole space seems to be under re-development, much of it by a major corporation. Didn’t it used to be fairly run down? Looks like mixed use buildings with shops, restaurants, bars, and residential spaces now. There was a large flea market with various booths and displays held on the spot in your last pic. I saw a line to get in and I’m pretty sure they were asking for a small fee.

It was very run down and not an area you would go to after dark. Quite a transformation.

It was a total constructon area the last time I was there, too. I'm glad they seem to have finished. I think there is probably a lot of stuff hidden underground.

As I was meeting people I could only take pictures en route. I’m sure there’s lots more to see. I guess this was once warehouses, goods yards etc back to steam days. The last picture is Granary Square btw. If you look closely there is a huge area of dancing fountains.

As a Harry Potter fan, I know Kings Cross as the station where wizards board the Hogwarts Express, accessed by Platform 9 3/4. Of course, the platform isn't real, but if I'm ever in Kings Cross, I will be taking pictures at the photo op.

I saw the title and thought Kings Cross, Sydney. Now there is a place that needs a historical photo shoot! From the gentry to the Bohemian population, the sleaze years and now genteel, if eccentric, current residents enjoy the Harbour and Park.

I was at the Cross in Sydney during the sleaze years.
