For the last 2 years, France has had a monthly programme where autistic and Asperger people interview a famous person. Here it is just once a month, which is good for building audience anticipation. The main point of interest is that the 'journalists' ask their questions with absolutely no filters, and the interviewee cannot dare to avoid the question, no matter how embarrassing. (I confess to a few doubts about this since obviously the programme is edited by professionals, but I hope they are just removing incomprehensible questions or people being dumbstruck when it is their turn to talk.) Usually the celebrity is an actor or singer, but even President Macron has participated in the programme.
Anyway, this would not be much in the way of news except for the fact that interest in adapting the format has taken off around the world, starting with Spain, Poland and Denmark. Now they are preparing versions for Flemish Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Israel, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and Québec. Options have been signed for Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. I can't think of any format that has gone so global since The Voice. Maybe some of you will find out how it all turns out. An obvious absentee is the United States.
