Were you able to sleep? I was in absolutely no pain at any time that i was sitting or lying down and almost none when walking. That was one of the reasons I didn't seek urgent medical care. Agony would strike if I had to stand somewhere without moving, exactly like a bad sunburn on the legs.

At what point did your wallet and its contents disappear? During the days that I was obliged to wear sweatpants, I had to take the metro once. As everybody knows, the pockets in sweatpants are total rubbish, so that was all it took.

Hopefully once all is well, you will never have to wear the wretched things ever again...
Seriously, glad that you are impoving. X

Kerouac I know all about your leg condition. I know the symptoms you describe. An old family friend in his 80's came to live with us for a few months while he kept his leg elevated and bandaged with what I remember was called a VISCOPASTE Bandage. The sores were actually ulcers that had formed where the veins had collapsed. The bandage was never removed and when he was able to walk he had to wear tight fitting surgical elastic stockings.
So glad you are over the worst but don't let it get bad again.

Sorry to read of your ordeal with your leg Kerouac, it sounds like a very painful condition.
It sounds like the clinic you visited was something like the one we had to take my dad to for about 6 weeks this summer. He had a terrible fall, fractured one wrist and the skin on the other wrist/forearm was ripped apart so it caused quite an open wound. While how your condition was coming from underneath, his would not heal on top. We took him to the outpatient Wound Clinic every 3 days for about 6 weeks and the way you describe your treatment was almost the same as he received.
They were wonderful to him and cared for his wound, we just thought it was never going to heal, which made me think while reading your post that you were probably feeling the same way. I so hope that you are continuing to heal and are recovering your energy and that this does not reoccur, if it does, hoping that you can get back to that clinic for follow up care.

I'm sure the medical staff would have checked blood sugar levels along the way. Ask what they measured and keep asking ... ulcers are slower to heal if affected by blood sugar levels.

Pure OZ. Cheri, both the drawl and the sentiment. But you know that, don't you?

Keep watching Home and Away and you’ll get it perfectly.
You never say hello. You only say hey!

Keep watching Home and Away and you’ll get it perfectly. You never say hello. You only say hey! Or you can say "Strewth, Marilyn!"

In both American English and Italian, you can say just evening/sera in lieu of including the adjective meaning 'good'. You cannot in either say just "day" or "giorno". "Afternoon" seems fine, and in Italian "buon pomeriggio" is used only on TV/radio—never in person—and the "buon" is obligatory to include. Who makes all these rules up anyway and why are we never consulted?

In the Midlands the greeting is 'Hiya' which I forgot about when I moved down south as a youngster. Within 24 hours of moving back to Leicester in the late 80s I heard it from one of my new neighbours and it came flooding back. I still say 'Good Morning'or just 'Morning' when I'm out walking the dog mid morning tho...
