I remember reading the initial story about the wonderful cache of photos from the Spanish Civil War, so was please to find this follow-up. Some powerful stuff here.

Some incredible images here...Phew! I saw an exhibit of Capa's work many many years ago at the ICP in NYC,and yes, they were incredibly powerful. I had forgotten about that exhibit until just now seeing this.

I saw a remarkable permanent exhibit of Robert Capa's stuff at the war museum in Saigon. It was quite incredible to see the country in which he died pay homage to him even though he was on the "wrong side." They understood that he was a photographer, not a person who took sides.

A few years ago we were visiting friends in Bordeaux. We went to see a Capa exhibit set in an old German submarine bunker. It was really well done,in that huge concrete building and the black and white, mostly war, photographs.

Great quote, Fulgenzio!
Going back to #4 -- I had no idea that Capa died in Saigon. From your comment, Kerouac, I take it he was there as a war correspondent, correct? Remarkable.

No, he didn't die in Saigon. He died somewhere around Dien Bien Phu.
