Waitangi Day is a significant day in the history of New Zealand. It is a public holiday held each year on 6 February to celebrate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, New Zealand's founding document, on that date in 1840.

Well I guess we have to find some way to celebrate! This is truly one of the very cool things about this kind of forum. I know I probably would not have given it a second thought after reading it on the calendar. Thanks, .

Clearly you do not, if you did, I would have won the lottery and I would be winging my way somewhere exotic not hanging around with some weirdos on the internet.

Whoa ~~ she's bitter about that lottery thing. Just because New Zealand has a national holiday today, is that any reason for everyone to ignore MY SAINT'S DAY? ?!!

the most unsaintly Palesa is sooooooooo jealous!
Thank you, Casimira.
My saint is the patroness of brewers, brides, florists, gardeners, midwives, and newly wedded couples. She is also invoked against fire, lightning and thieves.

Unfortunately in some ways, more than one, Goldie!
In the nice ways: I'm a keen gardener and love flowers & flower arranging. In other ways: I've been married more than once & certainly can suck down suds on occasion.
I crossed the Gulf of Mexico in a 40 foot boat twice, both times winding up in killer storms. I attribute the fact that I'm here to tell about it to the protection of my saint! (maybe)
