Normally, you're not supposed to keep Côtes de Provence more than 3 or 4 years.

Normally, you're not supposed to keep Côtes de Provence more than 3 or 4 years. That is because you are much older than me ! Côtes de Provence have improved a lot over the last decade(s?). You now have quite good ones that can stay longer in the cellar. My Gevrey was exceptional. 11 more to drink....

I'm always surprised when I find myself drinking scotch on the rocks.

I just can't do it, even though it's been several lifetimes ago since I drowned my sorrows in it a little too much in college.
However, an occasional Bourbon on the rocks is delightful.

I found an almost full bottle of tequila in the back of my liquor cabinet, which must have been there for at least 15 years. It allowed me to determine that I still don't like tequila. (However, I have nothing against margaritas.)

We are swilling a couple of Pilsner Urquells to accompany the polishing off of a rabbit/ duck pate with some fabulous flatbread and several relishes some of which are familiar and a couple of new concoctions made with local fresh strawberries.
Those Czechs certainly know how to brew a good pilsner.

To state the obvious, pilsner comes from Pilzen. I - as a Belgian - have respect for Czech beer.;.
Howeer I've got a côte du rhône2006 in my glass and love it..
We had a FABULOUS white wine last week - Condrieu - absolutely to die for.

Bordeaux is traitionally for the Fmemish and Burgundy for the Walloons.. We used to belong to Burgundy and Antwerpen was used as a port by ships coming from Bordeaux. If that is true, why is it still the case centuries after

had a coke earlier, some water before that, some hot cocoa earlier, before that coke, before that orange juice, before that apple juice mixed with water, before that coffee, before that (last night), sambuca, before that korn, before that white wine, before that beer. that's how far back i can think for now.

It is almost a reasonable hour for a vodka tonic. Actually, I prefer gin tonic but I don't feel like going upstairs to get the bottle of Tanqueray.

We started with a god Porto. bought at airport. 20 years old. Then we had some white wine. Côtes du Rhöne. 2009. Good. Then a Beaune. 2009. Excellent. Then a Gevrey-Chambertin 2008 - rhaaaa. Lovely. Then being plastered engouh, I opened a 2014 côte du Rhône that was left hald undrank. (you say undrank ?) Then we switched to coffe/tea. Shoot.
