Inspired by imec's enviable recollection of his first 45 being the Kinks,Tired of Waiting ,I recall as though it were yesterday my first 45.First ,I must preface by saying I was not in a record store rather a local chain grocery store. My mother, in an effort to get us out of her hair gave my bother and I each $1.00USD and I spent .75cents of it on The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence by Gene Pitney. My brother bought Big Bad John by Johnny Horton with the Battle of New Orleans on the B side.

I had 45s from the time I was little. We had a bunch of kids songs and stories on 45s. I am thinking the first 45 I ever bought for myself was maybe Fats Domino's My Blue Heaven.

I'm thinking hard, but I can't remember yet what my first 45 was. It will probably come to me sooner or later.
