To the Dump! It was great! I got to sing the Dump song. I got to vent some frustration by chucking loads of unwanted crap on the pile. I got to see what other sorts of cool stuff other people have thrown out. All in all, a Perfect Day!

Did you mostly dump or did you mostly glean?

Did you mostly dump or did you mostly glean? Alas, gleaning is forbidden.

I'm trying to think of Kerouac's African village, or Spindrift's people gathering branches for firewood in Nepal. They'd build a HOUSE with that stuff, and more.
What saddens me, in general a frugal person and not one inclined to buy a lot of "stuff" (no, I don't have scads of money either, but many even poorer neighbours (by rich-world standards) by a fair bit of cheap crappy stuff that doesn't last) is how much computer junk I've produced. Not really my fault, as I only discard stuff that really doesn't work any more, but it is a pity that the stuff can't be repaired, or that it costs so much more than buying new or new to me.

Oooo ~~ the dump! *envy*
I used to work for a contractor, so got to go to the New Orleans dump fairly frequently. It was so Fellini-esque, with seagulls wheeling and screeching overhead, & it seemed as though there was always a low cloud cover on the days I visited.
FYI, the N.O. dump spells like spent coffee grounds.
