*gasp* I have always wanted to ride in a balloon! We are all paralyzed with excitement, but are rushing to meet the balloon which you thoughtfully sent for us. Don't worry, the case of Kruger is coming as well...love the idea of the fire! Your photos are so beautiful. We will tidy up the empty bottles etc., so that you (after staying up all night) can go straight to the airport for your flight to PARIS! You and your family will have a fabulous trip! Bon voyage, mon ami.

The heatwave is well and truly over and cloudy skies have returned today. More's the pity.

Well, I hope it lasted for your lunch party (did everything go well?). And I hope it comes back when I arrive in London later this month!

My lunch party was a great success. It was the hottest and sunniest day of the year. I love the sun but most of my guests had to move their chairs into the deep shade of the trees and even the shade of the garden shed....even though I had provided an umbrella over the table and an awning over the bench....
Imec - I hope the weather will be good for you later this month. How long will you be in London?

The lunch party and promises of peeks at Bristol are furiously feeding my English Edwardian fantasies -- women in bustled creamy white dresses, men in rumpled white linen, suspenders, and straw hats, the sun shining benevolently ............. *sigh*
