Baz, did you hotlink your avatar from the internet or host it on ImageShack? I don't know what is going on with imageshack, but I've noticed some of my pictures here dropping out as well, and they were all imageshack hosted one. You'll have to find that image again and host it, or maybe you're ready for a new and different look.

My avatar has been returned. Whoopee (or oupi as they seem to say here)
Bixa, there has been some skullduggery (whatever that means - who ever dugged a skull?). My avatar was never abducted on TTR. It was someone here. I think the finger of suspicion points at

I have always loved the ruby slippers but I was really smitten with your recent mini Bixa.

But if I put it back now, it will look as though I'm copying Kerouac.

I'd hate to think about this forum without Kerouac! I don't have one zillionth of his imagination and creativity.

It seems to be a truly genuine, balanced team of talents. Kind of like the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers of the forum world. You are both very much to be admired and are probably under appreciated and taken too much for granted. Thank you both for all that you do (and put up with, I might add )

Thank you!
I'm sure I've mentioned this before somewhere, but I met Ginger Rogers. She came into the gift shop where I was working in my home town. This was @'83-'84. She had that Hollywood look left over from the 50s -- the yellow blonde page boy. She was instantly identifiable, probably because she'd had no work done on her face. Beautiful posture, and seemed very pleasant.
