Oooo ~ I love that you can see the seeds inside those colorful seed pods on the Melocactus. The itsy-bitsy M.longiflora giving its floral all is adorable and sooooo pretty. Yellow! Succulent! Pelargoniums! Three of my favorite things all together.

The Pelargoniums grow all through the winter then the leaves die down and then they flower.
And that’s it until next September!

I know it doesn't look it but this is quite exciting. A present from Gibraltar Botanical Gardens of Stapeliads collected in Morocco.

That is exciting! It was very kind of them to give them to you. They couldn't have gone to a better home.

Such beauties...my little darlings have survived the winter in the GH...I guess that my initial losses over the first winter they were in there were of the most tender ones.

*sigh* Mick, what can I do to get my A.arboreum 'Atropurpureum' to branch? It has been the same skinny stalk with the same lone crown of leaves for ages and ages.

When you get to autumn behead it and stick the crown into a pot with some soil and keep fairly dry. It should root up.
Keep the stump watered and fed and it should branch.

Thanks! I kind of knew it needed something like that, but didn't want to kill what I already have.

Don’t do it before autumn though or it won’t work.

Today I, all by myself, severely groomed then repotted a very big Agave stricta without getting pricked. Also repotted a hefty little ferocactus with no injuries. If any of you lesser mortals wish to start calling me Wonder Woman, I will graciously allow it.

I've probably shown this before but well worth showing again. Sinningia canescens.

Ha ha on your little beast. I imagine that kind of plant always looks better in a sprawling colony on native ground.
You probably didn't ever show that Sinningia before, or I'd still be writhing in jealousy from the last time.
