(casi's latest cloud photos look a lot like a closeup of a mammogram, only in blue and white instead of black and white!)

kimby, I love your "above the clouds" photo! Here are a couple that I took today as I was leaving the office. It was about 4pm and it seemed that rain might be on its way... So far, the rain has amounted to nothing more than spit.

I didn't see this thread until today. I need to get my head out of the kitchen more often and into the clouds. Here's an older photo, 2002, taken at Alles, Asturias, Spain, at the foot of the Picos de Europa. Since then, I upgraded my digital camera. I think you can see the difference. Next, moving across to the area near our hacienda in Michoacán, México, I took some nice cloud photos. Our area is notable for clouds in the rainy season, June through the end of September. This one was taken the afternoon of September 15, 2009. More here: picasaweb.google.com/doncuevas/EarthSkyAndFlowers#

That last one is fabulous! It also sums up why Michoacan so beautifully typifies Mexico and why I love that state so much.

Taken shortly after six this evening. Except for resizing the pictures, absolutely nothing else was done to them.

That reminds me ~ we all need to start stockpiling camera batteries now, as we'll definitely want to post about the end times.

Thanks. Yours are, how shall I say, celestial. Really, the second one even has an angel in it!
I was positively sick with chagrin yesterday as I stood in the check-out line of the mini-supermarket near me and looked out the door at a sky that made the previous day's look bland by comparison. It was similar to the ones I posted above, but with more and deeper colors. We need to keep our cameras on us at all times!

B.,all the cloud pictures you have posted from where you are should be compiled. I am blown away every time I see another one. This last set, those last three with mountains, the colors, are the stuff of great paintings in my mind. Thank you.

I agree with casimira - these pictures are stunning bixa! The two in #139 and the second last one in #144 are my favorites - but all are really really good.

Someday I hope to have the tools in my vocabulary to do justice to these masterpieces bixa. I am utterly stunned. All are jaw-dropping - the second one and the sixth one, for me, defy description. Thanks for bringing my attention to these. WOW!!!!!!!

Actually, I couldn't quite get to the base, but I think that these were coming out of smokestacks. Probably steam freezing in the cold air.
