beautiful clouds! the one thing that bothers me a tiny bit is the top parts of buildings there - i think they should either not show at all, or show a bit more (i.e. being in a straight line, and not just bits and pieces)... but i guess they could be easily removed with just cropping the picture a little bit... anyway, great light and colours!

there i actually like the tree. again i might have liked it a bit better if there had been more of the tree (like if there was the complete tree, but nothing else), but also as it is, the tree does not distract, but ads a nice note.

This amazing display is from @7:45 this evening. My house has a white tile floor which had turned gold from the reflection of these clouds. I went out & looked up at the eastern sky & this is what I saw.And the joy I got from these clouds continues. As I was setting up this post, it started raining hard!

Thanks so much, Rikita. It was a real piece of luck capturing those clouds. The fact that the light caught in them was so intense that it showed up on my floor prompted me to go out and see what was going on. Very soon after I snapped the pics, the clouds went dark and featureless.

Those are fantastic, Bixa. I am always in awe when the sun catches certain parts of clouds to illuminate them that way.

cloud, singular ;-) nice photo, casi Thanks Kimby, it looked like a heart a few seconds before I took the picture but, as Kerouac pointed out,"clouds are fickle". Same as in these shots which were taken back to back at the Jazz Fest on Saturday as Simon and Garfunkel were playing. Doesn't even look like the same sky...

So I got a little snap-happy on an airplane yesterday, flying from Orlando to Houston. These two pictures were taken about 2 1/2 minutes apart. I have no idea why one is so much bluer than the other as there was no real weather change. The view is toward the Gulf of Mexico. The land portion is western Florida, probably between Panama City and Pensacola.

That first one of yours is exquisite, Cristina, with the wispy clouds, subtle blue-gray tones, and the barely-there difference between sky, sea, and land. I'd love to have a huge picture of that.
Rikita, I looked at yours and thought, "Winslow Homer, eat your heart out!" Just beautiful.

Kerouac ~~ what incredibly great photography, all three of them! The middle one is super because of the composition, and on closer examination yields a strange dream-sequence feel. The pedestrian in the lower mid-left of the picture appears to be walking through an arch into the void.
I also love the effect of the rich gold statue in the third picture, illuminated in the break of the monochrome clouds.
