Variety is the spice of forums. Anyone who would enjoy bringing in new members, please post your ideas here and help inspire everyone.

Excellent idea. This is, after all, trying to be a travel forum among other things. It would be lovely to get the ball rolling a bit more on Asia and South America if possible.

Actively recruit members off of everybody's favourite Tree? You know, the one with all the thorns on it.
Alternately, there's Hospitality Club & Couch Surfing. Plenty of people around there.

Hmmmm.... that sounds good. Okay, so you've agreed to bring in 25 new people?

A method of passive advertising is putting the AnyPort link in your profile or sig line in other places where you post.
Anyone who blogs and links to AnyPort is really helping, since blog readers trust the bloggers' recommendations. Thanks, DonCuevas!
If you comment on blogs or post elsewhere, you can also link back to individual threads here, whenever there's a pertinent opportunity.

I guess I could attempt to interest some grouchy fodorites with a link or two. Otherwise my online life is very limited.

Well, the Fodorites on the France branch have certainly seen me whoring myself around, but due to my cheap ways, I am not popular with everybody, unlike you, lola!

My online life is also very limited. I don't even log-onto LPTT any more., I've sent links for my Swiss/Winchester offerings to many of my friends but, not being familiar with internet forums, most of them don't understand how to read the posts or pages. Some have trouble clicking (or doubtle clicking) on the link itself It's easy to forget that a lot of people don't know anything about the internet.....

I occasionally post on Thorn Tree, on the Canadian branch, I'm 'Kally_annie', I wouldn't mind putting the 'anyport' link in my sig-line over there , I just don't know how to do it. Maybe if someone could explain to me how to do it, I will.

I know what you mean, Deyana. I had to get help as I couldn't figure it out at all.
Check to make sure you're logged in there. Look at the upper right hand corner of any page. Open the drop-down menu from your user name. Choose "Forum Activity". On the right-hand side of that page, click on "Forum Settings" Paste anyport's url into the box next to "Signature:".
(I tried to make it text instead of a url, but couldn't make it work. Anyone know how?) ====================================================================
You can also put the AnyPort link in your Profile there:
Check to make sure you're logged in there. Look at the upper right hand corner of any page. Open the drop-down menu from your user name. Choose "edit profile" (it's the 2nd option). Scroll down to "Website/Blog address. (I put the anyport url there & also where it says "web name"). I also put anyport's url in "biography".

It's the squint as he smokes the Gauloise without removing it from his lips that really does it.
