The first day of autumn rolled in with a light frost here in N.Y. this a.m. At the cost of repeating myself,"cold hurts".

Odd, I had somehow thought the convention to designate the autumnal equinox as the start of Fall would be universal. Not sure why.

Of course it is. I clearly have my dates and times all screwed up. The frost on the field skewed my equilibrium with the earth's magnetic field causing me to fall out of alignment with the planetary pull away from the North Pole back into the Southern regions of warmth.

First frost already! Average here is Oct 15. I'll bet it's beautiful on your little island.

I have since been told by an old farmer here that what I saw on the back field was heavy dew and because I was shivering made it out to be frost in my mind. He looked at me like I was crazy when I said,"oh,a light frost this morning,eh?". Rather embarrassing for a farmer's daughter from here to say.

I was up in the airplane when the equinox occurred this pm. Kept looking for some celestial sign but didn't see any.
