This morning's wonderful hour-long sunrise display has really put a smile on my face. I don't smile much on Fridays these days.

A retro style French family film made me smile today, because the kids in it had really been chosen for their unique looks, and it made me smile even more to instantly recognize that the little boy's family lived at La Campagne à Paris, which I'm sure I was one of the few people to recognize. (The interior of their dwelling was obviously not there, because it was far too spacious. The magic of cinema!)

now can you translate what they are saying? why is he afraid of going to the forest?

He had just been reading a fairy tale about a child being abandoned in the forest and misunderstood part of a conversation that his parents were having, making him think that his mother was pregnant and they were getting rid of him to make room for the baby.

Lately, that I'm finally writing the story of my life, as from when I first arrived in the UK as a small child from India. If anyone wants to read it, it's in the link below. I will try and add some more to it each day.

Rikita, it's on here: hereandnowgroup-hang.proboards.com/ (The here and now group) It's under the culture section, under 'Story - untitled as yet. You do have to be logged in to view it, because some of it is very private and later on it will get quite traumatic. Just so you know. It's a book I've wanted to write for some time, and this seems like a good way of doing it, because maybe I can get some feedback on it as I go along.

Deyana - I'm reading 'The Story' as well. Most enjoyable...keep going. In which seaside town does it start?

Dogs made me smile yesterday ... they actally always make me smile, especially with their eagerness to pick the biggest branch they can find to carry when they're walking with their owners.
Beautiful spectacle of nature made me smile this morning. the rising sun painting the belly of clouds red, the mist rising from the plains...

Oooo ~~ they look warm and comfortable, Spindrift, and as though they have real arch support.
What prompted the purchase -- the first cool days of autumn?

I bought them simply because there's a large hole in my old boots (in the same style). I'll pass them onto my daughter if she wants them.
