I saw this on another forum and found it most amusing:
Can people with green card buy weapons? I mean non us citizens.I dont have the intention of take the us citizenship in the future, so i want to know.Im just work here in america for 20-30 years to make some money, maybe then return to my country. By weapons i mean pistols, shotguns or heavy firearms like ak47 and m16 with full automatic mode. Thx in advance.
The poster's handle is RussianSky. Here's the best part, though. It was originally posted in a section called "general US", but a moderator moved it to "Hobbies and Recreation". ;D

Anybody who wants to remain in the U.S. should probably have access to weapons.

Well, that would be to protect oneself from all of those 2nd amendment fanatics.

Don't you love it on an international forum when one single French twit person perpetrates an ignorant stereotype?

Saying Americans as a group are pretty gun nutty compared to the people of other industrialized democracies seems to me to be a trivial observation although rural Tuscany during pheasant season sounds like a war zone.

So does rural France during hunting season.

Also, in Italy hunting seasons last for months rather than weeks as they do in N America. Combine that with the fact that in Italy one may walk across pretty much anyone's property any time at will and the anti-hunting expats and retirees from the UK and Canada (where most seem to be from in Tuscany) are not happy for months at a time. It's entirely common to see some dogs pass through the yard followed a couple of minutes later by a guy with a shotgun or to hear sporadic gunblasts, sometimes quite nearby, from sunup until dark. I find it all pretty easy to get used to but then I really enjoy eating the wild game which is frequently featured seasonally on the menus of the local ristorantes, osterias and rosticcerias. (It feels odd using English pluralizations there, but is probably best done for clarity).

Don't you love it on an international forum when one single French twit person perpetrates an ignorant stereotype? You should be well used to it by now B.,I'm still adjusting to them .But,I'm allowing some slack ,as he admits to PUI. All that French wine will pickle the brain ,I'm afraid ,sooner or later.

In all fairness, I think Kerouac is in that lofty group of people who know PUI is always a bad idea.

Perhaps I am wrong in assuming that he abstained sufficiently from the "excess of wine" and I "jumped the gun".
