I got a real bee in-my-bonnet the other day and ordered a dozen or so used books from Amazon - All are specific to Paris.
Yesterday I received two of them. "Paris in Mind" by Jennifer Lee was the first one opened and as I inspected the condition of the pages, a little piece of paper fluttered to the floor. On picking it up and looking what is was I was delighted to see it was a boarding pass! The lady who used it for a bookmark was called Samantha S, sat in seat 2C on the 22nd Dec, on flight DL 6165 from Fort Wayne to Cincinnati, and had with her only 1 bag.
From then on I have been wondering about Samantha. Did she leave this book behind on her seat? Was she meeting an exciting lover? Is she old or young? Was this just part of a longer journey to Paris? How the mind has it's curious ways!!
PS - On the cover is the corner restaurant we sat at this last May 2009!

Maybe Samantha realized that Paris cannot hold a candle to Cincinnati and abandoned the book in disgust.

How charming to feel that Samantha passed on her pleasure in a book to you. I wonder if it's possible to trace her with the information that you have. Would you do so if you could?
It is a secret warm thrill to see a place you enjoyed featured in a publication!
