After eating ready meals and stuff from tea rooms whilst we were away last week I was happy to get back to proper food. Dirty cajun rice because we fancied something spicy. (no offal )

we should go shopping together Kerouac...we could buy a whole beef/pig/sheep carcass...I'll have the lean muscle and you can have the head, organs, feet and tail.....

A whole beef carcass is HUGE. Even a large pig... Hope you have a large freezer somewhere.

My monster vegetarian soupy stew is almost ready ~ onion, baby potatoes, beets, carrots, radishes, tomato, & cabbage. I threw in one toasted ancho chile, but had to fish it out as it turned out to be extremely picante. Time to eat!

Sorry, but that really does not look appetizing when it's all the same colour.

As bjd. There are three main elements there and I don't eat head, grey/white sauces or those noodles. It takes all sorts but personally I'd gag on that.

Those noodles are actually better than they look. I'd give the brains a pass, though. I have already eaten them, so it isn't a prejudice; I don't like the texture. Of course I'd eat them if I was starving. I have an Indonesian tempeh curry frozen in portions, there is a bit of white sauce but it is coconut, not dairy cream, and not overly saucy.
Bixa, I bought some poblanos at the market, and it turns out that the seller is from Puebla! Perhaps he was a farmworker earlier on in his life; there are no longer many here from Mexico, most are from the poorer countries south of there. Poblanos aren't very hot, but there is the odd one... They are very pretty.
I didn't have any lunch, so I'm eating something now and have no idea which meal it is. I am eating thick Greek-style yoghurt with tiny wild blueberries on one side and walnut pieces on the other, in a tapas dish.

They are not brains. They are mostly cheeks, lips, jowls. It is almost impossible to find brains these days, damn it.

Some saffron- or tumeric-tinted rice might have looked nice with the calf's head & its sauce, but lots of foods taste wonderful even if they don't look like they came from a cooking magazine's photo studio. The sauce certainly seems the ideal accompaniment for the meat.
A Poblano selling poblanos -- you don't even see that very much where I live! Usually the one fiery poblano in the bunch gets served to the poor soul whom you've assured that no, they're not in the least bit hot.
I know that feeling of not knowing the official meal designation of what I'm eating at times.

green beans, a bread roll with scrambled eggs, tomato, cheese and ham, and for dessert, a fig and some chocolate. the bread roll contained some cranberries and thus didn't fit that well with scrambled eggs, i suppose eating it with butter and honey would have fitted better ...

Well as it's our anniversary and my birthday I was expecting to be whisked away to a nice restaurant for dinner...but as every year (it seems) Jeff is ill so we can't go out. Son and I went to the chippy instead. Pretty boring meal but filling...I'm sure that we will go out to dinner when Jeffrey is better...

I love GOOD fish & chips - obviously not everywhere - but for a special day I would want some tipple, so I'd probably take away. I'm not very fond of beer, so the best choice would probably be some good dry cider.

Inspired by what I've read about halloumi, I made a Mexican version tonight by frying slices of queso fresco, then served them bathed in a tomatillo-based soup/salsa.

Your starter is a sort of tartare with slightly larger bits of tuna. Looks good, as does the pollock, but I love fish.
