We had lots of winds lately here too. I really enjoyed them. Now, it's the god awful homicidal inducing noise of the leaf blowers. Why is it that for every lovely thing such as a Spring morning with birdsong etc. has to be ruined by such a god awful man-made machine? I will never understand it.

Why am I bothered by noisy adverts when I open a new thread here. I must mute my sound to look at this site.

A breeding pair of Canada Geese have decided to set up a nest on top of the highrise across the alley from me. As it's the time of the year where I have started leaving my window open at night, I am awakened at dawn every morning with them honking past my bedroom window on their way to their feeding ground in Stanley Park. The building manager suggests a slingshot but I love the little big buggers so I wish them the best and lots of little babies.

Looking forward to them arriving here Lizzy. Although they are noisy and messy they are beautiful to watch swoop in for a few weeks before they move on and then we do not see them again until the fall.

Just transients, mich? Probably not a bad thing, they're awfully noisy. It's getting close to the blue heron nesting time, I'm quite excited. We have hundreds of them nest just a half km from me, at the edge of Stanley Park.

The occasional, very light thumping of a hummingbird against my window as it works its way around the hibiscus bush.

That's the kind of thump I could handle. We have some here too which reminds me that I need to clean the feeders and make some nectar for them.
Here, songbirds and I'm listening to Graham Nash singing on a new solo album (CD). He's still got it going on after all these years. There's one particular song that's a tribute to the late Levon Helm. Chilling. It makes you feel.

I can hear the African prostitutes at the foot of my building having a big argument (or maybe just a raucous good time at 1 a.m.).

The annoying sound of people rolling their suitcases across the floor above, then banging them up and down the stairs at all times of the day and night. ParisBestLodge will be getting a call from me...

Exotic bird calls - that were exciting till I realized they are caged birds on a neighbor's lanai - and a black olive tree (not related to the olive oil trees) that is full of blossoms and buzzing bees.

relative quiet - normally i hear the drunk people on the street through the babyphone the counter part of which is next to the open window in the bed room. but today mr. r. insisted on closing the window, because agnes is wearing a short sleeved pyjama. i think he exaggerates ...

Rarely do I use Facebook Messenger, but I get a little tiny "ding" whenever I receive a message. Ding, ding, ding. That's what I've been hearing ALL DAY LONG, ever since one of my high school classmates - we are talking mature people here - decided our class should crash the reunion of the class before us. Ding, ding, ding. "Who's going?" "Will you be there?" Ding, ding, ding. "Here's the address" Ding, ding, ding "Oh, darn. Why can't you come?" Ding, ding, ding "We will miss you so much." Then the prom queen reports that she is ill and will not be able to attend, so the football captain chimes back with, "Oh, you were the one I wanted to see the most! (Forget those others). I'm so sorry you're sick!" You'd think we would have changed a little bit after close to a half century. I guess learning how to use Facebook and Messenger was a major accomplishment for some. And all while I typed this.... Ding, ding, ding
