Polish Maria coming to visit next June. So far it is only with one cousinn called Anja. On the telephone yesterday she asked if it would be all right to stay for a night on their way to a friend who lives in Bordeaux. By the end of the conversation this one night had expanded to two nights and then to three. I said we have a lot of visitors coming so that will give me a reason to stop the visit at 3 nights.
She says she will bring her sewing machine (she spurns Mrs's Faz valuable antique Singer) and material to make curtains. That will be a welcome present.

Are you sure that she will not sell you the curtains once they are made?

Nothing is certain with Maria except it will be a difficult 3 days. It occurs to me we could have kept the cat that the previous owners bequeathed us. She and her husband are seriously weird about cats. There was Zuska who used to be fed on the dining table. There were a couple more house cats. Then there were outdoor cats. They used to have what they called a "drop" every evening, throwing food to them one by one. The cats had a sort of (to borrow a phrase) pecking order and knew whose turn it was. Mrs Faz and I spent a terrible 5 days there (Mrs Faz being allergic to cats). Fortunately Air Polonia that flew from Paris to Wroclaw went bust shortly after our visit

Oh Baz!!!! What is that saying about relatives and fish? Ok here is one for you all. Long story short, Mr. T63 has a son; he was in the Marines and well, (I didn't know him then) the result is David. He is 43 and we just reconnected with him last year. Married, he has 2 daughters, 17 and 18. They want to come to visit between Christmas and New Years. Mr. T63 and I have no children together. So, in the last year we have become grandparents! What the h--- will I do with two teenage gals. ? It will be probably 4 -5 days. I have never been a Mom, but now I am a grandma!! I don't know how to do this.

Yeek-o-rama, T63! I say film the whole thing, then make a killing with a tv series.
Seriously, I'll bet the girls would appreciate being shown some of the local sights, plus the mall is always good for an extended day out.

Good luck T63! I've had many of these experiences, not all of them pleasant.
