Do you ever meet people in your every day life, that always talk about their 'Glory days'? You know, about what they did back then, just how wonderful it was back then, and no matter what the subject you are discussing they always seem to slide back into the distance past of their 'Glory days'?
Sometimes it's just much older people, which is understandable, but when you get somewhat younger people always going on about the past, it kind of worries me. Is their life in the here and now so empty and devoid of any substance? Is that all they have on their minds? Are they trying to escape what is a reality for them in the here and now? It just makes me wonder. It's kind of sad really.
What is your take on this? Now I'm reminded of that Bruce Springsteen song.

Earworm! I find such people unbearable and will find a reason to get out of earshot even if I have to invent an outrageous lie.

I rarely come across such people, probably because I changed continents, moved far from most of the people I know and live in a big anonymous city where people don't talk to each other.

I like the way you put things Fumobici! And because I just can't resist it, here's that Bruce Springsteen song, aka the 'boss':
