My third happy, welcome-back greeting to HW. still trying to make up for his charge that I rudely ignored him on LPTT So glad to see you. Is it hard to ease back into the work groove? What did you do for the holidays?

Thank you, HW ~~ now I can sleep restfully again! Looks as though everyone but Icy is back, although Kimby has slipped from sight again. This might be a good time to ask the shy people who've joined and who log on but don't post, to think about plunging all the way in.

Yes, I hope so too. I saw a fleeting glimpse of Auntie Anne in the Weather thread a day or so ago and then poof! I have been missing her.

James.
James, James, James, James, James.
You have tons of stuff to say. For one thing, we really need reports from Africa. There are a couple of other South African members, but they keep pretty quiet. For another thing, I know how funny you are -- let it rip!
Do you have a computer at home now?
(I am rilly, rilly, rilly glad to see you here!)

Yes, James jump in; the water is fine and I know how you feel, because when I first joined I was a little shy too. These posters are wonderful and you will find yourself caught up in the port! So, just start, I like Bixa want to hear more about South Africa, which is very interesting to me. Mr. T63 and I are winos and foodies and we are somewhat familiar with South African wine and vineyards but want to learn more.

I think that Kimby is working really really hard on her Australia report to be sure that she blows all of the rest of us out of the water.

I think that Kimby is working really really hard on her Australia report to be sure that she blows all of the rest of us out of the water. Wouldn't that be nice? Actually I did START it. Haven't forgotten it. Just tough over the holidays finding time to finish it. And you all have set such high standards with your photo-rich well-written posts that the perfectionist in me is a little intimidated...

And are you back, Miss Ski Bunny? Two ski trips and 91 trimmed trees later, hubby's gone back to work and Kimby back to her computer! However I still have to burn the branches from the last 25 trees, so I still have limited time on here. But I was aching so bad from the past three days of dragging branches to the burn pile that I couldn't face doing more today.

This might be a dumb question, but aren't there people who might want it for firewood, so would come save you from having to burn it? (guess you'd still have to drag it)

Post by Kimby on Mar 16, 2010 1:53:15 GMT
The stuff that's big enough for firewood is being cut into firewood lengths by Mr. Kimby, and we will burn it in our woodstove, though if it's green it will need a year of curing before burning. Most of it is smaller stuff with lots of side branches and just plain nasty to drag around, much less try to pile into a truck and haul away.
We did comment to each other that it's a shame we can't harness the great heat of the burn pile and use it, though. Yesterday morning, I found a doe deer standing by the still-warm pile of coals. At least someone is getting some use from it.
