Wonderful, fun gallery, Jazz ~~ thanks. Unfortunately it made me think of the lovely bottle of Moscato d'Asti my son brought to my mother's house -- still unopened when I left. Nevertheless,

Good to see you Jazz.

Hi Jazz: I love your Champagne posters. Willi's Wine Bar ones are spectacular and I think they are for sale. We loved the restaurant and we eat there every time we go to Paris. Happy New Year!

Lovely posters! Which sparkler are you having, Jazz? I have a little split of Prosecco, but a very good Crémant d'Alsace for the réveillon that has been put of until the 2nd, as one of the gang (the one we were toasting) won't be back until the 2nd from emergency family duties. Hope you are having a very good and relaxing holiday season.

Great posters! Reminds me, I had too much of the bubbly stuff over the holidays.

I had champagne with 3 unknown women from the internet in front of Sacré Coeur last night at midnight. And that's in spite of the fact that I was deathly ill.

Sacre bleu ~~ it's the grippe porceau!

No, it's not the grippe porcine, and I admit that I am somewhat disappointed. I am in no pain, but my lungs and throat are dripping with phlegm. I fear that the three people I saw will not be new recruits but just the typical lurkers for the photo threads.

"porcine" won't rhyme
I'm sorry you're disappointed that you won't be one of the first to be carried off by the plague in this new decade.
You must have been an absolutely delightful companion for the ladies. Surely they will sign up in hopes of catching your catarrh details. Did you treat them to elaborate snucking and swallowing sounds, or even hawking and spitting?

I enjoyed some prosecco with my brother and his wife, tomorrow my friends will be over for champagne. Trav63, I was excited about the Willi's posters for sale and looked it up. 230-690Euro plus postage! uh, no. Do you think the photographer was influenced by Man Ray's photo of Kiki of Montparnasse? Le Violin d'Ingres, 1924

Happy New Year Jazz! Very nice to see your lovely post! I also thought of the Man Ray photo when looking at the Willi's Wine Bar poster. But I think the Man Ray pose, anyway, is repeated frequently maybe. Nevertheless, I like them both. Kerouac, I am trying to imagine how one drinks champagne "with 3 unknown women from the internet in front of Sacré Coeur last night at midnight." Who was in front of the Sacré Coeur? In any event, I hope you are feeling much better soon.

It just sounds like one of those wild stories, like the métro wino madwoman. As for me I just stayed in, as I have the same lingering cold and don't want it to degenerate into what k2 has.
Yes, of course I thought Man Ray when I saw the Wine Bar poster. I didn't think the latter was particularly original - and no match for Kiki!
Jazz, what are you having with the champagne?

Lovely, Jazz, and fun. Thanks! I love the naked-dancing-ladies bottled hedonism, solitary happiness in spats.
Beware women from the internet, Kerouac. I thought everyone knew that?

Deyana, never fear: K2 thrives on danger.
If that fails, offer to come over and help try out cleaning products.

Yes, of course I thought Man Ray when I saw the Wine Bar poster. I didn't think the latter was particularly original - and no match for Kiki yes! Oh my god, it sounds like a few of us were not well. I think I got food poisoning Christmas Eve (my own cooking!)...what a miserable night... and had to skip Christmas Day. Slowly recovering. Our champagne meal will be crabcakes and a fresh and simple green salad...baby spinach, frisee, watercress and snow peas. Then, a stirfry of shrimp, salmon and scallops with garlic and butter. The cheese plate will be Quebec cendrillon goat cheese, an extra aged gruyere, and Saint Andre with walnut bread. Dessert is Japanese ice cream, ginger and green tea, with Hungarian sour cherries.

Jazz - welcome back and Happy New Year I'm not keen on champagne and only sip it to be companionable but I like watching others enjoy it. I thought Kerouac was meeting only one stranger at 2am. How come there were three? I bet she brought her friends along in case he turned out to be weird. . With a chest infection like that he should have stayed in bed at home.

Jazz, sounds like a spectacular meal. BTW, I discovered the Quebec Cendrillon cheese on a recent trip to Quebec - superb! (you can see it on my cheeseplate in my most recent "What's for Dinner" post - it's the ash covered one at the top of the picture on the right)
