Ouch, as nice as that looks, it also looks really really cold! Are there any moment of thaw during the winter, or does it stay like that relentlessly for the entire season?

It's actually warmer than normal at the moment (around -5c). The snow and ice remains until March or April.

Oh well, I didn't think that the snow or ice would completely disappear; I was just wondering if there are periods above 0°.

Actually, there is some concern that the temps will be above 0 over the next few weeks - which will threaten the ice sculpting contest (part of the annual Festival du Voyageur).

Now that's a scary concept, wishing it would stay cold.... Gorgeous pictures Imec. Have always wanted to see a park/garden in such beautiful repose like that.Looks like a wonderland, very magical, and the bright red pagoda and the bridge lend so much to the composition and beauty of it.Thanks.

Ohhhhhhhh ~~ Imec! These need to be mounted in an exhibition, or at least matted & framed for your home. I really, really love them. #s 1, 4, 5, 10, 13, & 16 particularly pull me in. Just wonderful. I swear, your photography keeps getting better & better.
