Une pochette de voyage La caution A.P.S.
From a list of included items in a tour.
A traveling towel? I can't believe there's a traveling handkerchief...
And APS? Must be some deposit but what's APS stand for and what would the equivalent be in English.
Maybe, if possible, a little bit fast, I've got an early flight to catch. Thanks!

Sounds to me like a small toiletry kit but I could be wrong. I have no idea what A.P.S. stands for and Google is no help. The two most common words in my mind to start an abbreviation like that would be 'Association' or 'Assurance'.

Ok, thanks a lot. That should suffice for the time being. I won't translate the APS part. Have to send it back to the office by tomorrow morning so it can be quoted and returned. If no answers until 29th I'll ask them myself as I'll be meeting them in Hanoi.

Maybe whoever wrote that was using a translation engine, or an in-house word usage. Here's what I found: www.wordreference.com/fren/pochettea.p.s. might be "as per standard", i.e., "the usual" in English, but would that follow a word in French?

They were Vietnamese who wrote that. If they speak French it is usually good.
Though your theory sounds, er, sound.
It'll be put to the test tomorrow.

In any case, the word 'pochette' has too many potential meanings without clarification.

Somewhere along the line some clever person, I guess in the US, decided to call the brochures and other info handed out at conventions & the like a "kit". It's possible that "pochette" is that kind of kit. Obviously we need to keep mindlessly mulling this until the truth is revealed.

Yes, it could just be a big envelope of advertising material.

Meanwhile I have the reply about the second line: A.P.S. = Association Professionnelle de Solidarité du Tourisme It insures travel agencies against incidents that can happen to their customers and also regarding their own possible bankruptcy. Here is the website: www.tourisme-aps.com/

Ahhh, good. Gives me some additional info too Bixa, I translated it as travel info kit. Jack, that means the people I'm dealing with are themselves probably dealing with wholesalers in France.

Kit is the best translation as it could refer either to a pouch or to a toiletry etc kit. Glad to know about APS - I'd never heard that.
