That is really too depressing. I saw a documentary about a 33 year old guy who had not reached puberty yet. Can't even imagine how that must feel.

There are several odd and depressing syndromes like that - another is the opposite; children who have not yet reached normal puberty age who are already like very old people. Obviously they don't live to 33. Is there no way this man can be helped with hormone therapy? What is the origin of this syndrome? My neighbour has a rare degenerative disease. He doesn't work any more (was a programmes manager) and is on disability. Due to a lot of exercise, he can still climb the two flights of stairs to the top storey of the triplexes, but his brother, who has the same condition, is already practically bedridden. These rare conditions are called "orphan diseases" (or syndromes). Internet has been a boon both to people living with such conditions and medical professionals treating them, as the people with the condition indeed feel terribly alone and the professionals may have never seen another person with that condition. Here is the Kallmann's page on orphanet, a site on rare conditions and medications, in several languages : www.orpha.net/consor/cgi-bin/OC_Exp.php?Expert=478&lng=EN

"may also be suspected in infancy in males with cryptorchidism and micropenis"Jeez! The other day I saw a site with medical photographs of micropenises, and I had never dreamed that they could be so small that... they're not even there. There were even some inverted ones hiding in a crater in the crotch.

Yes, of course women with the condition don't "develop" either. I'd have thought a tiny micropenis would look something like a clitoris, but a crater (!)...
I can't remember the very long name of the condition my neighbour has. Brother, who is perhaps 50 at most, is in one of those long-term care facilities, mostly with people a good generation older of course.
