Ridiculous...it has to be a joke. French women aren't that stupid. But, it makes me think of the rather controversial book, French Women Don't Get Fat, by Mireille Guiliano. I enjoyed this book very much, especially her relaxed approach to eating and drinking. I can't deal with the fervent, health nazi, Forget Pleasure approach of the billion dollar North American diet book industry. Obviously, this approach does not work. From what I have seen, yes, there are many overweight French women, but far fewer (relatively speaking) than in Canada or the US. There is a wonderful small book for your cat loving friends, which is a satire of French Women don't Get Fat. It is French Cats Don't Get Fat, The Secrets of La Cuisine Feline, by Henri de la Barbe. Delightful!

I very much thought it to be a joke as well, but, when I listened to the podcast (which my husband heard in it's entirety as well)it seemed they were quite serious about. It said that there were even some "spas" catering to this new trend!!! I have seen the "fat cat" book ,it's precious!!!

I love that fat cat book! That diet is just tout à fait ridicule! I guess if you think it is chic to look like an idiot. But do not worry, I will persevere and actuall eat all my food when I come to Paris. ;D Just though I should add someone should tell them salt makes you bloat. -*snickersnort*-
