Yeek ~~ that looks too much like what I just escaped! Seriously, that is an extremely interesting picture spread, Existentia. What a dramatic change. How long to chinooks usually remain over an area? How lovely that you have an actual forest close to where you live. And pay no attention to that wimp behind the bib & tucker in the last post. "Share", hell! I'd gobble up that whole thing after such a cold walk, maybe looking around for more afterward. I'm assuming baby yorkies are not the cute little dogs -- roast beef (or pork???) and gravy on a bun, yes? Is that cole slaw in the middle?

I immediately thought of getting rid of extra little dogs.
I'm glad that the weather turned balmy. Are there usually some thaws in the winter?

I don't know how long chinooks last. I suppose it varies. This one has been going on for a long time.... temperatures are finally starting to drop but it's still not going below -10. I guess if there is a steady and strong enough wind during a chinook, it can really melt everything! I guess the word "chinook" translates to mean "snow eater".
I wouldn't say I have a "forest" nearby ... a few trees, really. Though Calgary has lots of green spaces, which is why it is so big. Comparable in size to LA or NYC but with only a million people. Lots of space.
A plate of yorkies is easy to devour single handedly! It is sliced roast beef in little yorkshire puddings (which are quite light), topped with gravy. And the stuff in the little cup is actually horseradish.

I'll be home to Calgry in Sept. My grandmother's 100th birthday party. She's not some old lady by the way. A very active spry lady who just happens to be old. She makes super fine yorkies as well.

Oh, chinooks rarely last more then a week and are usually followed by very, very bad storms. Likely as a way to make up for the balmy.

This has been a mild winter, Charlie... at least, for Calgary standards. After the chinook the temperature stayed between -10 and 0 for a while... then there were a few -15 days, and now the temperatures are mild again, -8 to +4 ... but we just had a storm so maybe this is the end!
