Hello Everyone - Sunday
Well, here we are, only 3 days left and oh my, what an adventure. We fly out on Thursday. Sorry we haven't posted more, but I promise I will catch up when we get back home. So, far, between Mr. T and myself we have taken over 500 pictures. We have assimilated into the neighborhood and have met some great people in our travels. Our trip has been not so much running to see the sights, but to really absorb the uniqueness of Paris. I have gone out a couple of days by myself to do girly things, and to let Mr. T have some space. The memories we both have, collectively and individually are enormous. For instance, last night, in bed reading and someone in the apartment complex starting playing a piano, It was 10:00 pm and no one seemed to mind. It was beautiful!
Today, will be quiet, we had scrambled eggs, toast, strawberries and champagne for breakfast. Dinner will be home cooked, a beef bourguigon with all fresh ingredients. We have taken great delight in the markets and the fresh food. I have cooked several times, and most breakfasts have been in the apartment.
So, this will be the last post before we go home. Thanks for all your kind words and I hope I haven't bored you too much.

Ohhh, Traveler63 -- I feel like crying because you have to go home! Your lively, interesting accounts of your doings have made the time fly by.
I so look forward to avidly reading more accounts of your wonderful trip. It was incredibly generous of you to take the time to tell us about what you've been doing. The stage is set for more, more, more!

Imagine how much of that someone who only spends two or three days would miss. Pretty much everything.

My nephew is upset to have to take the train to Spain on Tuesday, because he has realized how much he was missing by never having come to France. I have nevertheless exhausted him by taking him on a death march to everything that was on his "must see" list (which was actually quite short). Tomorrow I will exhaust him even more. I will not allow myself to be exhausted until he is gone, because these 29 year olds need to be taught a lesson.
I am thrilled that you had a more sensible trip, T63!

Traveler, that sounds utterly lovely. One of my favourite trips was the loan of an apartment high atop Belleville/Ménilmontant - kerouac will know the exact boundary if there is one. I was in-between two things I had to do, and had about ten days to myself. I know Paris fairly well, and while I did go down "into town" for tourism a couple of times and of course visited friends I mostly stayed up there and did normal life things, shopping for food, sketching and painting at Père-Lachaise Cemetery, inviting friends over to "my place".
Only sentimental regret is that overseas sweetie (who I had seen the week before) had to work and couldn't join me in Paris. I did see him again a couple of months later, so it was just a sweet longing absence.

Traveler, I am so envious of your month long stay. I arrived in Paris on Thursday evening and will be here for a week. Even though I have been here before, it has been quite some time and I know that a week is not enough time to do the city justice.
I hope you had safe and uneventful travels back home!
