Mind your head!!!! Some fool let it leak that there was a famous Stalwart in town... The competing canal tour boat passes by... I'm sure this guy thinks he's James Bond... This guy just caught supper... Another would be Bond - but this one's got chicks!

wt fp?! Just watching the world pass by... This guy apparently never seen a stalwart - went head over heels... More circus wannabees - a future Flying Wallenda maybe? "Isn't that the famous imec from APIAS?" Oblivious to the spectacle she's missing... "He'll never be able to resist me... " Our cruise is over and our helpful (not to mention very pretty) tour guide bids us adieu... "Agent 63 to base. Subject has diesembarked and appears to be headed in the direction of the metro..."

Hmmmm.... strangely enough, I feel as though I have been there before. ;D
Great pictures! And it was obviously a perfect day for the cruise.

Yep, it was your post K, on the CSM that convinced me to do this tour - loved every minute. Thanks! Next time I go I will spend time on the ground around the canal - it looks like a great area!

Ha ~ you got a guffaw out of me with the first "Stalwart" caption, and kept me smiling after that. This was fun ~~ thanks!
The lights-from-above in the canal tunnel are spookily beautiful. I particularly like the close-up of the opening, with the water reflection that made me think I was upside down for a moment.
What is the big wheel (pulley?) thing -- the photo right above Okay Restaurant? Are or were there locks in the canal?
One thing that really got me about these photos and ones by Kerouac taken around Paris is how the people obviously use and take pleasure in their city.

Sorry, I really don't remember. There are in fact many locks, but this picture was actually taken near the end of the cruise after we had long passed through them all. There are also some lift bridges and I notice that the picture I took immediately after the pulley thing is this one... Shit, I just realized I f'd up my post. I'm modifying to include the morning pics.

Beautiful pictures of the helicopter fly-over. But what they really need are word balloons over the birds' heads in #s 2 & 3.

I absolutely love the early on shots of the canal with the light coming through onto the water. And what a gorgeous color green the water takes on. I wonder what kind of fish that guy was going for and is this a common pastime? I agree with Bixa about people obviously enjoying where they are. Very nice work there I,thanks.
