If you want to see live flights around Europe at the moment, actually not that many of them, look here (it may take a few attempts as there is heavy usage, as you would expect) - flightradar24.com/

I've accessed that website, Mark, and there's nothing happening at the moment because of so many Users online! There's a notice saying: Users Online = Too Many!

It took me a while to get in to it, but now I'm in and I'm staying there.

Sorry if this is being discussed elsewhere, but how much of a mess is this for everyone? Are Londoners letting tourists sleep on their living room floors? The BA site says no flights today or tomorrow.

My wife is stuck in Germany and can't get back here.
I'm not sure that's a good thing or a bad thing.

The hotels are not overloaded because, don't forget, the people who would have normally needed those hotel rooms are not arriving either. However, the financial aspect of the extra days is sure to be a problem with some people -- especially the ones who are too dumb to move out of their holiday hotel to a more modest establishment.
Actually, there is a little detail for the locals to worry about in the big cities -- a hell of a lot of the fresh produce is flown in from other places, and the markets will be empty of these items soon if air cargo does not resume.
We might have to go back to eating the local products that we should have been eating all along.

Oh, sorry oM.
I always picture produce arriving in big fat trucks; didn't know it got flown around.

I noticed today that tomatoes, red peppers, lemons and (strangely) coffee were in short supply at Waitrose today.

I don't know where red bell peppers come from at the moment, but there is no way that I would pay the price I saw. It was more than 5€ a kilo whereas it should be under 2€.

Kenyan veggie farm workers were very worried. Apparently a lot of the fresh veggies come from there. They were losing 2 million USD worth every day.
