Fish for breakfast? Never heard of it. Kedgeree - "A delicious traditional English breakfast dish using smoked white fish, rice and eggs. It is based on the Indian dish Khichri and comes from the days of the Raj." One example of a many recipes - www.spar.co.uk/recipes/kedgeree

Actually, camping out may involve fish for breakfast. And the crab on Eggs Benedict is seafood...

I've tried eating fish for breakfast but it never sits right. A late breakfast may involve some salmon but that's about it.

Smoked salmon is obligatory at a French brunch, but brunch is a meal that I never have.

OMG, I made pancakes for breakfast. That must be the first time in at least 3 years, just like for the French toast.

I love pancakes as long as they are savoury. Breton buckwheat galettes or dosas.

I have just had a breakfast delivered to my door as a treat from my sis, as its my birthday. I have not eaten all of it but there was granola, yoghurt and blueberrys, sausage, bacon and mushroom sandwiches and a carafe of what I thought was juice and fruit. As I first drank some of it I thought, "oh that's a bit odd ..adding sparkly water" Now feeling oddly lightheaded for 10.21 in the am

Wow! Happy Birthday Lugg! What a nice way to start the day.
I had cereal...bran flakes with freeze dried summer berries and vanilla yogurt instead of milk. Noms.

I had two fried eggs, something I never do at breakfast, but I was transferring eggs out of a carton and found that two of them were cracked. So I took appropriate action.

I had cauliflower soup for breakfast; which I made and blended from all of the non-florette leaves and stems that one normally throws away. I added a vegetable cube and two chopped green chillies for a little extra flavour and bite. This morning it was great with a couple of dollops of crème fraîche on top.

I was feeling very decadent this morning, so I split two bananas lengthwise and fried them in butter with brown sugar. And then I remembered that I had a little bit of whipped cream left over, so I put that on the plate, too.
Since the bananas were already quite ripe, neither sugar nor whipped cream was required, but it was all delicious and sinful. And it lasted less than two minutes.

Yesterday for late breakfast I had two pieces of toast (unbuttered) thickly spread with chicken liver pate. It was better than anything has a right to be.

A tad decadent Bixa. Good for you!
We rarely have breakfast that involves cooking save the occasional omelet or scrambled eggs. Today was the exception because T. had been talking about making it for several days. It entailed having to take the frozen corned beef leftover from St. Patrick's Day and he kept forgetting to take it out to thaw the night before. Unbeknownst to me he took it out of the freezer late last night and I awakened to the aroma of the makings of corned beef hash. I had some rye bread from NY in the freezer to accompany it. Perfect fare for a rainy and dreary morning.

One for K2 to report on - "Lyon has a long-standing tradition of tucking into wine and offal at breakfast." "I've always found French petit déjeuner (breakfast) insubstantial, but that wasn't the first thing that came to mind as I scanned the menu on the blackboard. Gone were the tartines and croissants, replaced instead by a list that read like a biology textbook: rognons de veau (calf's kidney), tablier de sapeur (fried, breaded tripe), tête de veau (calf's head). This was mâchon, a long-standing Lyonnais breakfast tradition where no part of the animal goes to waste." www.bbc.com/travel/article/20221130-mchon-the-french-breakfast-you-dont-know

Manual labourers and people finishing the night shift often have full meals early in the morning, but that concerns only a small minority.
