fried rice with an assortment of vegetables. I have some flat cabbage, which is very nice (very tender cabbage; have used some of it to make a salad with shredded carrot).
Espresso, of course.

We had steak and eggs (scrambled) using the leftover filet from my 10 ounce filet that I ordered last p.m. from one of the very rare occasions we go to a steakhouse. Rye toast and dark roast coffee.

Tomorrow morning will be the rest of the fried rice. I did it well; used very little oil, not greasy at all. Lots of veg.

I don't usually bother posting breakfast as it is most often leftovers or toast, but K2's ducky supper inspired me to make a Spanish tortilla with some leftover "half-cooked" potatoes I had (from making a savoury pie) and a bit of leftover duck fat! I won't eat it all for breakfast but it is distracting me from the first #""/$?&*! "real" snowstorm. I'm working at home today and don't think I have to set foot outside, but still, I hate it...
Lovely tortilla though...

agnes kept asking me about sweet millet gruel as she heard about it in fairy tales, so today i tried to make some (without recipe, just experimenting). i cooked it with milk and a bit of juice, and added preserved cherries and grated coconut because they have to be used up soon, and some honey. too much honey, in fact, i think it is to osweet. also after a lot of cooking, the millet is still kind of crunchy. other than that, it is alrihgt.

Traditionally in Leicestershire it's baked ham and Melton Mobray pork pie for breakfast on Christmas day. I'm not a fan of pork pie at any time of day so we had grilled bacon, fried egg, toast and bucks fizz instead.
