While we are used to that scene here Fumo, I have been reading and watching the bizarre winter in BC this winter, it must be a shock to most there. My cousin there expects it will all be gone by mid week, but this looks like a lot more than she expected.
We have only had about 10 cm of snow in the past three weeks and above normal temperatures, however, as we say, it all balances out and this week we are expecting close to 60 cm of snow by Friday.

Mick the Cactus Thank you for your gift. The link worked well but your idea of wrapping snow in brown paper and string parcels and posting it to me needs a bit of extra refining.
Yesterday 42.2 Today 42.1 and rising Tomorrow More of the same 2 days time 27 and rain storms

Similar to Questa. This week started in high 30's and very humid. Today a predicted relief of 27C.

We are back down to near freezing temperatures in Paris. I knew that would happen as punishment for the mild week that we had before.

It's cooled off here too. Only 27C today making it possible to go and enjoy lunch outdoors.

Only just 1 here, and it tried to snow this morning, didn't lay but just generally cold and damp. We are promised a slight improvement in a few days.

Well, so far we have not gotten the 60 cm of snow that was estimated this week, thank goodness! Only about 10 cm so far. And yes Lizzy, we are still reading and watching the snow accumulations in your area in B.C., unbelievable!
It was -30C this morning which usually equates to being a no snow day.

Well, as I'm closer the the water the accumulation isn't so much, but today the freezing rain started.

They're hinting that we might have some sleet in Paris late this afternoon.

It was cloudy and did not get above 0 C in my neighborhood, all day today. There was a sort of damp yellowish smog that stank of rotten eggs, here too. Smelled like a gas leak, but I guess it wasn't. Good thing...

As I dream of faraway places, you all are making me feel so good about being at home.
Tod, are you in what is considered mid-summer right now?

The Paris metropolitan area is on snow alert tonight, but nothing seems to be happening so far.

Yes Bixa - we are still in Summer but next month it's autumn. Already our one Plane Tree has started turning it's leaves yellow but not all Plane trees in the city are. Very sunny but clouds building up for a bit of rain later. Last night we had a terrific thunder storm so TV went off signal for an intermittent hour.

Another night where temps hovered around 0C. Light dusting of thawing snow again this morning. At least we are promised better things by midweek. We will escape from the malign influence of Europe. And despite all the bleatings of the EU adoring Guardianistas we will escape from them as well.

Is now the appropriate time to mention that I am off to Bali and neighbouring island of Lombok early April? 16 days of tropical beauty and friends... Ah! I thought not.

I'm at the coast -- hence the lacks of posts. A bit of everything weather but the past 2 days were beautiful, sunny. It must have been 17 or 18° yesterday. On Tuesday we went for a long walk on the beach, watched the surfers. Yesterday I bought some )plants and gardened. Of course, since they are newly planted, they need some rain and the rainy forecast for the weekend has just been changed.
But it's definitely springlike here -- I can hear the blackbirds singing in the morning.

Im so excited for you Questa! Just heard our architects son - a doctor who travels the world going to semi-dangerous places and working on private yachts, has decided he wants to live in Bali not Cape Town any longer. He has an Asian girlfriend so I can see a connection there. He has no problem with transport. A private jet flies him to and fro anywhere in the world. What a lucky young man!

Tod2...I just hope he gets to know the Balinese people and their life style and not hang round with the expats and time-wasters ("Came here to write a novel 12 years ago...still haven't started it yet")

Oh no, not this doctor. He is a keen surfer ( which means a bit of shoulder rubbing with the....dare I say? surfer types). All he will do is fix them up medically when he is there having his break before going off somewhere to attend to several millionaires. I'm pretty sure he has been there several times but not to live.

So nobody is having weather any more?
This is the second week of beautiful spring weather for a couple of days with cloudy/rainy weekends. The sky is blue and the sun is shining again today. Forecast is for 22°C. All the flowering trees like magnolias are blooming and the mimosa is almost finished.
