A fairly mild summer, a few awfully hot spells and not much rain. Now autumn. no we don't have freezing weather where the cities are, but constant grey skies, cold wind, drizzly rain and no sight of the sun for days is miserable.

32° day after day after day. Can't even get a good thunderstorm even though we've been having thunder.

We had an almighty thunder storm, rain and small hailstones yesterday. Today it was sunny but the air is much cooler. Autumn is here.

Perfect skating weather today! Last week we had a bit of a thaw that melt the snow layers off the lake and this past week it has been quite cool again, -20C for overnight temperatures, when this happens it makes nice hard ice. The schools are closed this week for March Break so I have had the joy of watching the kids out skating and playing hockey.
Tomorrow it will be above 0C so with sunshine it is going to be a spectacular day. We have a gentleman coming to cut down a dead White Birch tree, it is easier to take them down in the winter as it can be felled on the ice (it is near the shore) and cut and stacked much easier than in the summer when they are laden with leaves. We are also going to have a campfire and maybe put out some lawn chairs on the snow and have a few beverages.

After a few days of beautiful sunny warm weather (23° yesterday), today it's overcast, 12° right now and some wind from the northwest. If it's not going to be nice, it should at least rain since we are lacking water after a dry winter.

France is in a phase of glorious spring weather -- sunny and above 20°. It should last for at least 3 days before becoming disappointing again.

Even on this side of the globe they have been talking about Debbie, so it looks like it's going to be a bad one.

And here there is not a breath of wind. The clouds have parted and it is sunny and bright. Little or no humidity so it will be a good day.

Paris might reach 24° today and if so, it will break the temperature record. And then all of the nice weather will collapse to nastiness by the weekend.

Debbie was intense but short-lived. The people obeyed the rules and stayed indoors wherever they were caught so we had no deaths and only a few injuries. Winds gusted to 263 kph and rainfall was intense 250 mm in 2 days. Now as the water is rising the floods are going to be the most damaging seen for years. This area grows most of the fruit and veg for the country so prices will skyrocket as usual. Bananas are the most eaten fruit here. After a previous cyclone the price went from $2 a kilo to $16 almost overnight.

Good to hear Questa! I do not want to experience even the mildest of hurricanes or cyclones.

Now as the water is rising the floods are going to be the most damaging seen for years. The 1pm news here showed that the flooding is really impressive... and of course heartbreaking for some people.

They are certainly impressive. I liked the photo of a large bull shark that had swum upstream and now beached itself on a country road.

How can it be so cold in the morning when it warms up to summer temperatures during the day? (Don't bother replying -- I know all about cloudless nights, etc. I'm just saying it isn't fair.)

Beautiful day here today so took myself down to Felixstowe this morning which was very busy. Temp up to 21C just enough to raise a faint sea mist.

The days here are gloroius. Clear blue skies with bright sun all day but temps not exceeding around 25C. Only problem....no more sun-downers on the patio after 5.30pm as its is a little chilly after the sun has gone. And just when I invented a dynamite cocktail with Tequila !
