Hot in Paris (28°) for a grand total of the three next days. Then people will complain about it not being hot anymore.

It was as warm as predicted today. I think I did the right thing by buying a new air conditioner for the upstairs room.

Gad, Huckle ~ that Chicago reminiscence is tantamount to a 20th century plague story! I guess you're stuck with electric lighting with your shutters closed. The wind is blowing directly at your balcony? Fingers crossed the electricity stays on.

Why do you think Huckle is in Sri Lanka? Just returned from 6 day trip...690 km 1st and last day, and motor sport and parties for the rest. My brain was screaming for a rest and all I could give it was Red Bull. Get home and words like monsoon, rain and Colombo/Columbo leap out from my computer to deceive me with memories of other times and places. Failing that...'cos I am stoopid and can't read posts properly!

32° here this afternoon. Our heating system provides air conditioning in summer but we never use it. So far, it's still pleasant in the house: about 24°.

Huge storms across France last night but they were extremely localised, so possibly invisible tornadoes. Toulouse was hit by winds of 137 km/h while the suburbs only had 40 km/h. We finally got some welcome rain in Paris, both last night and this morning, but now the sun is beating down again. Next week there will be a new heat wave with temperatures up to 40° (but not in Paris, I hope).

We had nothing here last night. I heard about the Toulouse storm and hail on the radio today. It was cooler and cloudy today but no rain until a few minutes ago when I went out for an errand. It has already stopped. Rain forecast for tomorrow though.

Raining every day here. I went to a party this afternoon and managed to make it home just as the rain started again.

supposed to be dry and sunny, but not quite as hot. i guess that is good, though we are going to a lake, so maybe heat would be nice, too (then again, we are camping, so maybe it is good that it isn't very hot ...)

Utterly beautiful first days of summer, after a cool, grey, rainy spring. Max 26° and LOW humidity. Eating some leftovers for breakfast and heading out on my bicycle.

Meanwhile, we are starting our "heat wave week" tomorrow in France. On Sunday, it should be 30° in Paris, which is still bearable, but on Thursday the forecast is for 37°, not quite the same thing. After seeing some refrigerated movies, I am kind of hoping for some photo ops.

We were at a party outside today in Bayonne. Sunny and 27°. it was lovely. I just had a look at next week's heat wave forecast -- it's not supposed to be too awful here, on Thursday the forecast has gone down from 34 to 30. But that is still some time away.

There is still quite a bit or margin for variation before then. Nevertheless, forecasts are becoming more and more precise.

At the moment it is 26° and cloudy. It is not supposed to get quite so hot here because we are so close to the west coast.

Meanwhile in my patch it is -7 C in the mornings. My cat and I choose to stay in bed until the temp achieves a positive reading.

Looks like the majority of us in Europe are suffering together, except for the lucky people in Brittany, Portugal or at high Alpine elevations.

Problem is that my pool has not yet been cleaned. So it is all in a hurry now. And I had no liquid propane for my barbecue. Fortunately I have rose wine in the fridge. First world problems that I like to solve.

Yes, as Mossie says. I didn't know that site. It shows where I am but unfortunately it also shows 37° for Thursday, which is more than the Meteofrance site.
