I agree with Bixa -- you see the relative sizes of "debts" (although is the cost of the UN or obesity-related spending a debt?", but I don't understand why it's put together like that.

I think the point is to show the relativity of certain things regarding which the authorities say "we can't afford that" or the public says "we're spending too much on..." Just an example are the number of people who think that foreign non-military aid is sucking us dry.

Oh ~~ then I'm not as dumb as I thought. That is actually what was going through my mind as I watched the video. It was probably a particularly strong thought since that very day I'd read that the US spends more on military stuff than all other countries combined. Can that be true?!
