J'adore les macarons! Kimby, is that last pic of yours in Rome? Here's some more circles.

The oculus at the Pantheon in Rome. Amboseli wins!

I thought it was Rome. I must have a similar photo somewhere on one of my back-up DVD's.

I have to go back to color slides for that shot.

Mine isn't a full circle, unfortunately.

Oh, there's definitely a circle there. AND it's a better photo, too. Love the lighting. Here's a reprise of one of my favorite circles: It's a millhole, worn from the solid stone creek bed by a stream

How interesting, Kimby. Love the pop of green in the photo.
Amboseli, you captured the golden light in the oculus beautifully. Love your photos in #60, too. Wish I were there now.

Is that a store inside a former vault?

Yes, that's part of the Virgin Megastore on the Champs Elysées. It used to the be the Citibank.

Cool location. I haven't seen a Virgin store in ages. The last one here closed a few years ago. Kinda sad.

Yes, I went to the one at Times Square shortly before it closed. The reason they are still open here is because they don't belong to Virgin in France. They were bought by Hachette, the huge magazine and book publisher.
This specific store will probably close before the end of the year, though, because the rent is too high but I'm nearly certain that whoever takes over the space will always keep that fabulous vault.

kerouac's vault photo buried the wonderful Peruvian circles that nycgirl posted above it. Both wonderful photos.

It takes me a week or more to work my way back to some of the photos I have not yet seen in the Image Bank -- and that's a good thing: it means there are always a lot of new things to see. I wonder if anybody here manages to keep up with the Image Bank 100%?

That's in the Grand Palais at the moment. I put a few more photos in my Monumenta update.

I remeber seeing # 87 and 88 when I was in Boston a few years ago ( and of course following the freedom trail )
