Oh, that is unexpected. Of course those of us who really only knew him through Harry Potter would have never even recognised his real face.

He was very good in Cracker if you can find it.
He was in Blackadder too.

I absolutely thought he was fab . However it does not surprise me .. he has looked quite unhealthy for some time. Cracker is one of my fave series ever.

Very sad, he was a fine actor and a highly intelligent, genuinely funny man.

Kirstie Allie, Emmy Award winning American actress known for roles on both the big and small screen. Probably most famous for TV series Cheers. Also well-known were her struggles with her weight. Of cancer at age 71.

I always felt sorry for her, as she was first known for her beauty then publicly judged for her weight gains. Her political stance sucked, though.

Do you think that's why she became a republican... to make Kirstie great again?

It's hard to think of the Republican Party as a refuge for the congenitally happy.

So may in such a short few days. Seriously??? I combed through the news this morning before logging in here and saw absolutely no mention of any of these people having died. Do you have a link Tod where one might refer to reporting this? Thanks.

Maybe they are just dead as Oscar contenders.

I saw all the announcements on YouTube - 24 Nov 2021 — Social media claims that actor and director Danny DeVito has died are false. I now today I see Cliff Richard has passed. But this looks genuine.

And what about the wicker coffin and a little page boy holding his photo? My cousin has a guitarist friend who plays gigs in Portugal and has seen Cliff and man friend in the village. I know he has wine farms there. I will ask her to message him and see if the news is false.

If it was true it would be on the BBC news but nothing there.

Tod2, you have to stop using Facebook as a news reference.

Tod, this us the Utube channel you are getting the info from. Look at the people who are reported dead and you'll see it is false. Also, listen to the narration - it is computer generated. www.youtube.com/@lucasmorocho09/videos

How cruel can people be - making the unsuspecting viewer believe some tragic news! Kerouac I don't know anything about Facebook - The visuals just appeared on my TV screen following other stuff I had been watching on YouTube. I never go near FB if I can help it. How did it get on my TV then?
Mark - Thank you for that link. Truly horrible but oh so believable.

It would be on the news sites. Do you ever consult BBC, Sky or CNN? That's where I go immediately to check questionable "news."

Oh please tell me if this is true.....Has Simon Cowell passed away? It seems to be some strange new internet meme, to spread false reports of deaths. If you're seeing it from any source other than a known reputable source*, don't take it too seriously. *No, the Daily Mail doesn't count.

And the narration! As Mark pointed out, it's obviously computer-generated, plus there is all kinds of stuff included in the video that has nothing to do with Cliff Richard. Don't bother messaging anyone about this kind of crap, just go directly to google.

Yes I do agree that these deaths would have or should have been seen on more reliable website. The website announcing all these passings comes onto my TV when its on YouTube. It always starts the same with a woman kneeling and placing flowers under a tree - The words across the screen are "Tragic News" - I tried to find it on my computer but no luck so far.
I will take it all with a pinch of salt from now on BUT surely this must be something illegal? Its down right pathetic to announce a death of a person still very much alive.

Tod, once you have clicked on a video like the deaths ones youtube will deliver to you the same or similar ones - as that is what it thinks you want to see. No matter if on a computer, a phone or a TV, youtube will "curate" (stupid word) its content to what it believes to be your liking. I watch youtube videos from time to time and from then on for a while similar videos are always offered for me to see.
Try not to click on any more like that but do click on something, like gardening or of a neutral interest and you'll find later only more gardening or whatever videos will be offered and the death ones will fade away to seldom and then not at all. They'll die a death. The only other way is to deep dive into settings and preferences to get rid of them.

Thank you Mark. I have soooooo many videos we watch, mainly during dessert. Or TV left on to suite itself. I am one of those interested viewers who are curious to watch cooking, farming of animals and produce, or kitchen hacks. How this Obits channel found me I'll never know.

tod2 ~~ Open YouTube on your computer. The page will show bunches of thumbnails of different things supposedly of interest to you. Note under each of the thumbnails, on the right hand side, there are three little vertical dots. Click on those dots. On the drop-down menu click on the choice "Don't recommend channel". I think that will get rid of that obits channel for you.

One tragic recent death was that of director Ruggero Deodato who singlehandedly invented the "found footage" horror genre even though back then (1970s) they were passed off as documentaries, such as Last Cannibal World and Cannibal Holocaust, which was banned in numerous countries.
