If you haven't tried this, then you really should!
Ingredients:
1 boxed camembert 2-3 sprigs thyme, leaves only 1 tbsp olive oil ciabatta or baguettes, to serve
1. Preheat the oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7.
2. Unwrap the cheese and carefully slice the rind off the top of the cheese. Return the cheese to its box, cut-side up, and place the box on a baking sheet.
3. Season the camembert with sea salt and freshly ground pepper. Sprinkle over the thyme leaves and drizzle with olive oil.
4. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is browned on top and melted inside. Allow to cool slightly, then serve with bread such as ciabatta or baguettes for dunking! ;D

I was going through the recipes and came across this intriguing item again. I was wondering if it would work with a young camembert or if it should be "ripe." However, reflecting upon the matter a bit more, it seems that it would only work with a young hard camembert because the rind of an older one would be too soft and the inside would already be half liquid anyway.

Really? Is it so rare outside Germany? In the south (but also up the Rhine to Cologne or Dusseldorf) you can probably get it in every restaurant. It is breaded and deep fried though, and you eat it with Preiselbeeren jam.

I have seen fried camembert with jam in Copenhagen.
